Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has covered natural and war-related disasters for more than 45 years. She focuses on the suffering of people in these areas. Curry reported on conflicts within Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of the city of Agana) is an American TV anchor, reporter as well as a journalist. Her most renowned work was as a correspondent on the Today Show, a daily morning news show broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry is known for reporting emergencies and disasters that affect the human condition and natural disasters, particularly in countries that have been devastated by war. Curry was born in Japan and educated by a Japanese mom. Her father served as a U.S. Navy sailor. Her parents met while their father was in Japan following World War II. They were frequently on the move because of the service of her dad in the military. Curry graduated from high school at Ashland Oregon. When she graduated from University of Oregon, Curry obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism degree in 1978. Her exposure to different cultures and environments in her early years likely contributed to the empathy with which she approaches international topics. Curry and her husband frequently moved which is why she could not be in a single school for over a period of more than two years. The couple moved to various locations such as San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Ashland was her last high school. Her path to an impressive career when she began her career in broadcasting as an intern in KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon, eventually becoming the first news reporter female at the station at the age of 22. In Portland, Oregon she was named anchor as well as a reporter for KGW which is NBC's subsidiary. When she moved to Los Angeles, she became a reporter at KCBS TV just four years after having moved into the city. She won 2 Emmy Awards during the six years she spent with this station.
